It’s DAY 4 of the 25 Days in December Writing Challenge and today it’s all about escaping from our Covid restricted lives and sharing out our wanderlust inspirations for the new year. Travel has always been something that’s bonded my little family and since Covid hit and caused all travel to cease it’s been difficult to look forward to anything. Thankfully we have vouchers from flights we’ve had to cancel, which will come in handy once we’re allowed to fly internationally again.
In the meantime, let’s escape into today’s prompt which is…
Where would you like to travel in 2021?
There’s so many places that come to mind! However, if I had to choose just a few places that I would love to put on my travel itinerary in 2021 are:
I absolutely fell in love with London when we went in 2018. My husband was on a little European tour for work and we were able to use some credit card points for Greyson and I to tag along. London was our first stop and it was my very first time visiting. We were only there for a few days before jetting off to the next destination, but what I did get to experience (a lot of wandering and exploring on foot) will always be a fond memory. I look forward to getting back and expanding our trip to other parts of the country. I’d even love to get to Ireland someday!
Belgium at Christmas
Speaking of European wanderlust…
We have a friend who made a move there with her Belgian boyfriend more than a year ago now and I just love following her adventures on Instagram. It’s such a picturesque place and one I’ve always been interested in. I love towns that seem to transport you to another world and I can’t help but love their celebrations of Christmas! Fingers crossed we’ll be able to visit sometime in 2021 (or at the very least in the next few years).
Another fond memory is Christmastime in 2018 we, along with my MIL, took an overnight trip to Waco while visiting Texas for the holidays. I had always wanted to go and was excited to finally make it happen. It was quite busy, as you can imagine, but since we’ve been they’ve made additions to the grounds and I’m sure added a few travel precautions since Covid. Something we didn’t get time to do was eat at Magnolia Table and that would be something I’d love to try to do again. You can read all about our original adventuring here.
And realistically, that’s about it! I’d love to add more places but knowing Covid may affect travel for a while it’s nice to pretend-plan for future adventures – kind of something to look forward to doing once we get a handle on this pandemic.
